We Are Here

20 x 4 x 4 ft
Metal, mirror, led

Part of the series Tank Jhaank, the 20 feet monolith sculpture is a monument of distress.

The action of blowing into a pinwheel is one that symbolises the action a child would take even in a time of a crisis or war, that is 'play'. The pinwheel also acts as a communication device to send out SOS messages in the form of a morse code. The morse code is sent upward when someone blows into the pinwheel, from all four edges of the tower and turns yellow at the end. Collectively our actions help bloom the tower in yellow, a colour of peace. Play for peace, play for protest.

The morse code messages here are the ones that were used in the times of war whilst someone was stuck and needed immediate evacuation.

Showcased as a Solo presentation at Jaipur Art Week 5.0, Central park, Jaipur
